Volunteers: Ray Alma, Drew Dernavich, Barbara Garrison, Marty Macaluso, Oded Naaman, Patrick Merrell, Adrian Sinnott, Tim Savage and Elizabeth Winter were grateful to draw Thanksgiving-themed pictures with the beautiful St. Mary’s kids today!  We made turkeys, teepees, and a portrait of one of the boys driving a super slick Maybach, just ’cause.

Thank you, kids, for another wonderful evening at KidZone TV!  We loved taking your calls and truly enjoyed the special treat of drawing one on one with a young boy who helped us with his brilliant ideas and enthusiasm.
We went with a Thanksgiving theme for this one.  Our volunteer artist, Pedro Delgado, drew on brown paper: an oven, a chef holding a pie and a slice of pie, working in markers and white colored pencil. Our Director, Elana Amity, drew a colorful turkey having fun with pumpkins in the great outdoors. We talked with the kids about colors and composition while we worked and everyone had a fantastic time.  Thank you, everyone!  Can’t wait until next time.

We had a wonderful time with the New Alternatives for Children kids today! Thank you so much, Anelle Miller and Elana Amity of the Society of Illustrators for hosting. To Carin Berger for her beautiful demonstration and introduction to collage and illustration. To Louie Miranda and Materials for the Arts for giving all of the art supplies and guiding the activities so exuberantly. To our Ink Well volunteers: Ray Alma, Elana Amity, Joan Chiverton, Barbara Garrison, Tobie Giddio, Oded Naaman, Abby Merrill, Joyce Pedretti, Tim Savage and Elizabeth Winter for helping the kids make dioramas of batman in a box, cats in a cat house, an octopus emerging from the ocean, a flying wolverine and so much more. Thank you to Stuart Davis and the NAC staff for the incredible feat of encouraging and transporting 30 children to participate in this special day. And most of all to the children who patiently took our projects in and lifted them to a whole new level of creativity and imagination that left us amazed and inspired. We will be posting pics soon!
